During the Fall of 2009, the District contracted with the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) to conduct a Communications Audit as part of the District’s current Strategic Plan. The audit report has been received and reviewed by the Board of Education and the Administration. A Communications Plan is being developed using many of the recommendations from the audit report. The complete audit and an executive summary of findings and recommendations are available.

In the past several years, the District has experienced a shortfall of revenue compared with its operating needs. This trend has been exacerbated by the downturn in the economy. Specifically, our revenues have been adversely affected due to delayed state payments, tax objections, delays in property tax collections, unfunded state mandates, and low interest rates.

The Education Foundation recently mailed out invitations to the Mardi Gras "Auction on the Bayou" Spring event, taking place on February 26th. All parents of students in District 57 were mailed an invitation but, we know many have not received it yet. All families are welcome and encouraged to attend this special evening.
