October 15th Board Meeting Notice

The next District 57 School Board meeting is at 7 p.m. this Thursday, Oct. 15. The meeting agenda, which can be found at this link, includes a presentation of a hybrid back-to-school model for Lincoln. Central office administrators and some Board members will attend the meeting in the Fairview School multi-purpose room; others will attend via Zoom. The meeting will be live-streamed to the public via YouTube at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGSnlners_0. In addition, some community members can attend the meeting in person and make comments. There will be a limit of 50 people allowed in the room at one time (including the administrators/Board members participating in the meeting). There will be overflow seating and a live feed in the gym, which will also have a limit of 50 people. Everyone must wear a mask in the building.

Community members in attendance will have the opportunity to speak during the Community Comments portions of the agenda. There will be a three-minute limit for each speaker. The Board asks everyone to be mindful of others who would like to participate and respectful of the many different viewpoints. Anyone who wants to share feedback but is not able to do so in person can email comments to the Board using the feedback form at this link: https://www.d57.org/BoardFeedback.aspx. The emails will not be read during the meeting, but they will be seen by each of the Board members and District administration.

The Board has scheduled a special meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 19, at Fairview, to discuss the plan for Lincoln. This meeting will also be live-streamed, and community members can attend (with the 50-person limit in place). The Monday agenda includes time for community comments.

We are able to live-stream Thursday's meeting and future meetings because we have purchased equipment to facilitate this. We have received many requests for live streaming meetings, particularly over the last several months, and we are pleased to now be able to meet the need and demand with this technology update.
