We have been receiving questions from parents about whether or not there will be a strike and when it would take place. I understand that many of you are concerned about lost school time and making arrangements for childcare, so I want to provide you with as much information as I'm able to share at this time.
According to legal filing guidelines, the earliest a strike could happen is Thursday, Feb. 13. But it's important to note that both parties continue to work hard to avoid a strike and it is the School Board’s intention to negotiate a settlement. The next several days are very important as there is a negotiating session tonight, a School Board meeting tomorrow night, and another negotiating session scheduled for Monday, Feb. 10.
I hope to have more details to share with parents on Friday or Saturday. Until then, I appreciate your patience during this time. Please know that we will communicate as much information as we can as soon as we are able.
