A Message from your Superintendent

 June 30th, 2020


Dear District 57 Families,

As you know, we have received state guidance regarding the 2020-21 school year. I have been working with the building principals and the rest of my administrative team to review the extensive guidelines and determine what learning will look like when school resumes in a month and a half. In addition, our Staff/Administrator Task Force is working on our transition plan. The feedback that parents and guardians have provided so far is an important part

of this process, and we would like to seek some additional input to assist us as we plan. Please take a few minutes to complete a brief survey at this link. We ask that you participate by Tuesday, July 7. Thank you for your continued partnership.

On another note, today we bid a fond farewell to Trevor Hope, District 57 director of technology, who is taking a position at another school district. We wish him well! We warmly welcome Mark Fijor as our new director of technology. Mark has been director of technology in Skokie's Fairview School District 72. He has also held school technology positions in Northbrook, Arlington Heights District 25, NSSEO and District 214. Please join me in thanking Trevor for his many contributions and in welcoming Mark to the District's administrative team!
