Dear District 57 Families and Staff,
Today, Gov. Pritzker announced that Illinois school closures will be extended through April 30, as the state works to slow the spread of COVID-19. This means District 57 will continue Remote Learning for another month, or longer if the state decides further closures are necessary.
We are pleased with the rollout of Remote Learning after these first two days. We’ve received a lot of positive feedback, and we thank you for your support. As you know, coordinating Remote Learning was an unprecedented task for administrators and staff – both from a technical and curricular standpoint. It was an impressive team effort, and I thank everyone involved. I also thank District 57 parents and guardians for the important role they are playing, while juggling other responsibilities. And, of course, I commend the students for their commitment to learning even though they can’t be in the classroom with their teachers and peers.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to your teachers if you have questions about this week’s lessons. I will continue to update you as new information becomes available, using email, the District website, Facebook and Twitter.
