The Kids’ Corner program is making changes to meet the needs of D57 families!
Based on positive survey results students will now have the opportunity to eat lunch as part of the Kids’ Corner program. As the third trimester begins, these changes will take effect on Monday, February 22. As a result of this change, hours of the program will be shortened slightly. Westbrook Kids Corner new hours will be 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Lions Park and Fairview new hours will be 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Normal session hours are:
Westbrook
AM Session: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
PM Session: 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Lions Park and Fairview
AM Session: 7:30 am to 11:30 am
PM Session: 11:30 am to 3:30 pm
Please Note:
Students may report to Kids' Corner as soon as the in-person learning day is over until the Kids' Corner session ends. For example at Fairview and Lions Park a student could attend school in person from 8:00 am to 10:30 am and then go to Kids’ Corner from 10:30 am until 3:30 pm. Also for example at Fairview and Lions Park a student could attend Kids Corner from 7:30 am until 12:30 pm and then go to their in-person learning session. In both these examples the student would bring their lunch and eat at Kids Corner. If you don’t wish to have your student eat lunch at school you can take your student home to eat and then bring them back to the program.
The program still has limited availability for safety reasons.
Students will be seated 6 ft apart during lunch. There will be an individual partition around the students when they eat. The students are only allowed to remove their mask when they are seated and eating. The areas will be sanitized by the facilities teams after the students finish their lunches.
