2021 School Board Elections Information

Mount Prospect School District 57 will have four school board seats to be filled through the Consolidated Election on April 6, 2021. Candidates who are elected will fill four-year terms expiring in 2025.

The Cook County Clerk’s Office handles all the paperwork for the school board elections. School districts no longer handle election responsibilities and candidates cannot file papers with the school board secretary or the administrative offices of the school district. Candidates should consult the Cook County Clerk’s Office website for information, including the 2021 Candidate’s Guide.

Candidates for the office of the school board can circulate nominating petitions for signatures beginning September 22, 2020. A candidate for school board is required to file the nominating petitions, Statement of Candidacy, and receipt for the filing of their Statement of Economic Interests with the Cook County Clerk’s Office. The period for filing nominating petitions runs from December 14 through December 21, 2020.

Candidates can also get information from the State Board of Elections website at http://www.elections.il.gov/ and from Illinois Association of School Boards at www.iasb.com/elections
