Danielle Dillon, New Principal of Westbrook School
Danielle Dillon
Mount Prospect School District 57 has named Danielle Dillon as the new principal of Westbrook School for Young Learners, effective July 1. She will replace Dr. Kristin Vonder Haar, who last month was named the District's new assistant superintendent of teaching and learning, replacing Dr. Mary Gorr. Gorr will become superintendent when Dr. Elaine Aumiller retires on July 1.
"Danielle is a skilled and dedicated educator and leader," according to Aumiller. "She has done a wonderful job at Lions Park since taking on the critical role of assistant principal four years ago."

Prior to joining District 57, Dillon was a fourth- and fifth-grade teacher in Park Ridge. She has a Master of Arts in School Leadership from Concordia University and received her Associate of Arts in Elementary Education from Trinity Christian College.

"With her classroom and administrative experience, as well as her efforts to connect with students and build partnerships with families, we believe she is the perfect candidate to take on this important leadership role at Westbrook," Gorr says.

Dillon says she looks forward to providing a "warm, nurturing learning environment for students, families and staff, by building a strong school community and continually improving instructional practices."

Aumiller and Gorr worked together on the search for a new Westbrook principal, as they prepare for the leadership transition this summer. Aumiller says they went through an extensive search process, which included input from Westbrook staff and parents.

District 57 serves approximately 2,230 pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade students in the community of Mount Prospect, Ill., preparing them to learn and succeed in a changing world.
