The District 57 School Board will meet at 7 p.m. this Thursday, Sept. 24, via video conference. The agenda, which can be found at this link, includes a District presentation and Board discussion of plans to move students to a hybrid learning model. Community members can view the virtual meeting on Zoom or on the screen in the Fairview Multi-Purpose Room (300 N. Fairview Ave., enter door 9). A video recording and podcast of the meeting will be on the District website afterwards.

 

People can make comments live during the 2 Community Comments portions of the agenda, by using a microphone set up at Fairview. The Board is offering this opportunity in response to feedback that has been received and in order to give a larger number of people a chance to participate. Each Community Comments segment will last a maximum of 60 minutes, and there will be a 3-minute time limit for each speaker. The Board asks everyone to be mindful of others who would like to participate and to be respectful of the many different viewpoints. There will be a limit of 50 people allowed in the Multi-Purpose Room at one time, with overflow seating in the gym. Everyone must wear a mask in the building.

 

Anyone who wants to share feedback but is not able to do so in person can still email comments to the Board using the feedback form at this link: https://www.d57.org/BoardFeedback.aspx. The emails will not be read during the meeting, but they will be seen by each of the Board members and District administration.
