Dear Parents/Guardians of Students in 4th-8th Grade,
As shared in
my recent communication, Mount Prospect School District 57 is currently implementing a districtwide equity audit. We will be seeking student voices and participation as part of the process. There will be two opportunities for students to participate in the equity audit: student focus groups and a student survey. Please read below for more information about these two approaches.
STUDENT SURVEY
All students will receive the EQUITY SURVEY unless the opt-out consent form (below) is completed.
| General Information | When Will It Occur? | How Do I Opt My Child In? |
Student Survey | Students in 4th-8th Grade will be provided with a survey to give feedback about their experiences in D57. | The end of September/early October. | If you WANT your child to participate, you do not need to opt in your child. |
STUDENT FOCUS GROUP
Only students with completed consent forms (below) can participate in the STUDENT FOCUS GROUP.
| General Information | When Will It Occur? | How Does My Child Participate? |
Student Focus Group | Participants will meet with peers and a focus group facilitator. | Focus groups will be scheduled during the school day. This may occur during students’ class time. | Spots are limited. If you have multiple students you would like to opt-in, please complete one form per child. If you DO NOT want your child to participate, not actions is needed. Only students whose parents/guardians have opted in for this experience will be considered for participation. |
For questions or concerns about the student focus groups, please contact Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, Dr. Kristin Vonder Haar (

In the spirit of education,
Dr. Mary Gorr
