In November 2024, Mount Prospect School District 57 asked residents to approve an $85 million plan to address critical needs in our schools and ensure we can continue providing an exceptional education for every student.
Here’s what the plan included:
Full-Day Kindergarten: To comply with the State of Illinois’ mandate requiring full-day kindergarten by 2027, the referendum sought funding to expand Westbrook School for Young Learners. This expansion will allow us to meet the mandate while offering the same opportunities already available in neighboring districts.
A New Lincoln Middle School: The referendum addressed the need to replace our aging middle school, which faced challenges such as outdated classrooms, inadequate space, and aging infrastructure. The approved plan funds the construction of a modern, accessible facility designed to support innovative learning, STEM programming, and the needs of today’s students.
These investments were essential to meet state requirements and align with our community’s expectations for high-quality education. Without additional funding, these critical improvements would not have been possible.
Thanks to the successful referendum, District 57 now has the resources needed to create the learning environments our students deserve as they prepare for high school and beyond.
